Worship the 3rd Sunday of Epiphany ~ January 23/22 ~ Uplifting the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity The story of the Magi seeking/visiting Jesus overarches the Season of Epiphany. It's seen as symbolic of the world's different religions and cultures –seeking the unity God desires, and was chosen as the focus of the 2022 worship materials as prepared by the churches of the Middle East. Serving the Gospel today requires a commitment to the human being, especially the poorest, the weakest and those marginalized. It means churches need to cooperate to provide relief to the afflicted, to welcome the displaced, to relieve the burdened, and to build a just and honest society. This is a call for churches to work together so that young people can build a good future according to God’s heart, a future in which all human beings can experience life, peace, justice, and love.In our Bible Readings we'll hear and reflect upon Luke 4:14-21 (Jesus leads worship in his hometown of Nazarath, proclaiming the message of the prophet Isaiah)... and Psalm 72:1-7; 10-14 (God's anointed defend the poor). Please join in praying for our churches in this changing world: Lord, help us to find new and creative ways to follow you and to witness to you so that the world may believe.NOTE: Our in-person service is hosted at 10:30 a.m. Cooperation with the Covid protocols regarding self-screening, hand sanitization, masking, and physical distancing is expected. There will not be a video posted, but the attached Order of Service (pdf) is provided to read and reflect upon at home. You can click the web links to also participate in singing.
