We would be honoured to be a part of planning a funeral/memorial service to celebrate the life and beging grieving the death of your loved one.  It is our intention, as the church which will host the funeral service for your loved one, to treat you and your family with utmost respect and to help you live through one of life's most difficult transition moments.

A service that lovingly reflects the life of your deceased relative or friend is of paramount importanct to us, therefore the family, in consultation with our Minister, shapes the service in accordance with their needs and the needs of their deceased loved one.

The Minister of our church can be contacted, at any time, to provide comfort and support during the time of dying and then when funeral arrangements are being made. She will also offer follow-up support to you as you deal with the grief that is the aftermath of any death.

The Funeral Service

You are more than welcome to hold the funeral/memorial service of your loved one at the church. A memorial service is similar to a funeral service, except that the body or ashes of your loved one are not present. Most often, the Minister of Stettler United Church will conduct the service on your behalf; however, if you have another minister or a family friend in mind , this is also possible. Please consult with our Minister about these alternative arrangements.

A two hour consultation with the Minister is usually required in order to carefully plan the service. A service that lovingly reflects the life of your deceased relative or friend is of paramount importance to us, therefore, the family, in consultation with our Minister, shapes the service in accordance with their needs and the needs of their deceased loved one.

Music

One of our church musicians is available to provide music for the service. You may wish to have a relative or friend play for the service; recorded music for the service is also an option. We also can obtain the services of a soloist if the family so desires.

The Lunch

We do have a group that hosts funeral receptions following the service. Our Funeral Reception Coordinators will consult with the family about numbers of people expected at the service and the menu to be offered. Generally, funeral reception lunches include sandwiches, pickles and squares. Coffee, tea and juice are also provided. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Church Office.
