For those of you who are celebrating, or being celebrated on this Father’s Day, Happy Father’s Day to you. May you know yourself loved and appreciated, this day and always.
June 21st is also the beginning of a new season, with the arrival of the summer solstice. For the last 25+ years, June 21 -- National Indigenous Peoples Day -- has been dedicated to celebrating and honouring the diverse cultures, achievements, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
Our worship theme is Renewing and Righting Relations.  Our bible readings are 1 Kings 19:1-15 and Psalm 42. God promises to be there like the one who says, 'I'm sorry for your pain, but I will hold your hand."
Chinook Winds Region calls us to particularly honouring Elder Alberta Billy this Sunday. She passed from this world on June 13/22. She's remembered in this article by Tony Snow as the courageous woman who called upon The United Church of Canada to apologize in 1981 for “what you did to us in residential schools.”    https://chinookwindsregion.ca/2022/06/15/honouring-elder-alberta-billy/?fbclid=IwAR3srY7_bVNPr5xy-HHxIk3YRmR1dMs9LBHkQtsbTx4zVbglRZmzskHl06o
